SPIEGEL : How did you stay in touch with your daughter while in prison ?

Nadejda Tolokonnikova : We were allowed to talk to each other on the phone once a week, and sometimes twice. And Gera was able to visit me once every three months. She would bring me drawings during those visits. Once, she even drew a plan to help me escape from the camp. An escape plan.

SPIEGEL : Do you feel guilty that you and your husband have neglected your daughter, because of your political protests?

N. Tolokonnikova : A man would never be asked that sort of question.

SPIEGEL : What do you hope to achieve, now that you are free?

N. Tolokonnikova : Justice, truth and beauty.
